If you're buying water to reduce TDS, think again. We have water in our area in the range of 300 to 400 TDS ppm depending on the time of year and what the local municipal water company is doing with it. It won't reduce much. The same company offered us a 4-stage whole-home water filtration system for over $3,000, and I decided to check out their internal filtration before considering that kind of investment. Our faucet test returned 309 TDS PPM. I hooked it up and I'll say it's pretty basic, but it didn't make much of a difference in testing. I installed it and ran water through the filter for half an hour before doing another test. The filtered water test was conducted at 292 TDS PPM. Not much difference for the money spent. And if you think the application has some sort of telemetry data filter, it doesn't. They basically added my contact information to their mailing list. They will likely mail their items to filter the whole house. i will return it
