Review on Koni 8050 1129 STR T Shock by Gene Rosado

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Awesome shocks are the best option for the everyday driver

When I first bought my car (used) I started with a KYB rear shock absorber kit. The KYB shocks had less compression than the OE shocks, but I tightened them up anyway. After 2 years they were shot. I went ahead and installed them on my 2007 Civic LX using the Eibach Pro Kit. The ride is firm but not harsh or harsh at all. A friend noticed a difference in ride but didn't complain or mention anything. Old rubber buffers and bushings must be used for the rear shock absorber. So be prepared to drill a 1/16" hole to remove the rivet on the stock shock. The supplied metal bushings do not fit properly. I have had several sets of Koni Yellow Sports shocks over the years, this is my first SRT.T set. So far, I am very satisfied. According to Koni, they are about 10-20% stiffer than the original dampers and almost identical to Koni Yellow at full softness. I would buy them again, they were fantastic. A non-Si owner should consider installing front and rear Si anti-roll bars. They bolt on, tightening the car up and making it MUCH more stable at freeway speeds.
