We installed these boxes a month ago. We had to put surveillance cameras on the roofs of our buildings. We attached these boxes to 12 inch metal strips. In our constructions, the strips are attached to the ceiling. The boxes contain the wiring and Cat6 cable (flooded) that we used for the installation. Cat6 conveniently fits into boxes without pinching cables. We chose the 6" x 6" box to accommodate our desire for extra space in the boxes. We've left a foot of cord in each box for future camera replacements or upgrades. Smaller boxes don't have room for additional wiring. We couldn't run electrical wiring in the attic of one building, but there is no attic in the other; We ran Cat6 through underground conduits and up the sides of each structure to connect the cameras. These 6x6 boxes have multiple holes for connecting PVC pipes and cords - this gave us flexibility as we were able to position the boxes to line up properly with the cords. The boxes are placed at the corners of a building and diagonally above another building. You can see the difference if you zoom in on the picture of the store. The boxes and lids are sturdy, but we still drilled drainage holes before putting actual screws in the lids of the boxes. We didn't want to risk punching a hole or splitting anything. Potential drilling of the lids will not result in the lids splintering, but we have chosen to be extra careful. We installed 10 boxes and they look amazing! We were grateful to have found large square white boxes for our project that matched our spotlights so well. The installation looks clean and professional.
