Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Ginsu Chikara Series 12 Piece Cutlery Set with Toffee Finish Block - Japanese Steel by Chad Overturf

Revainrating 4 out of 5

An almost perfect set.

I really like this set. I don't need any more knives than the four that came with this set, but I've replaced the 5 inch utility knife with a serrated version. If it was a serrated knife to begin with I would think the set would be perfect. I just didn't see a reason to have a 5" utility knife when I could just use a chef's knife or paring knife, while a serrated knife comes in handy for slicing bread (something I wouldn't use a straight blade for). . Another thing to note is that the chef's knife is shorter than the regular chef's knife since it's a prep set, but that doesn't bother me at all. I was concerned that the grip material was of poor quality or rattled or something, but they all seem pretty solid and don't rattle. The logo stamped on the knife block was already peeling off when I received the set, but honestly I don't care. The knives were sharper than I thought they would be, so I didn't need to sharpen them before using them. Overall I'm not too upset about the price as the set suits my needs quite well and I find the knives to be of decent quality.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • I'm worried
