Review on Benriner Mandoline Slicer Japanese Stainless by Monica Satchell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sturdy and wider than others I've tried

I've worn through several plastic V-shaped slicers over the past few decades. In the end, they will just break somewhere and it will be impossible to fix them. I've decided to upgrade this replacement and so far I'm really impressed. The flat surface is quite wide, the whole block is very solid. I love the fact that you can adjust things so that the surface is completely flat, shielding the blade and protecting you from accidental blade contact when the device is in storage. The plastic holder is very durable and looks good. It's certainly well made, but I'm glad I bought it at a slightly reduced price. Mandolins I've tried over the past 40 years. It's easy to get the right slice thickness (although not preset), easy to clean, and easy to store.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Exorbitant price
