I use this filter in a slightly unconventional way. I grow plants in a greenhouse. In the summer, the temperature in the greenhouse gets high enough to kill the plants. I use mist fans that spray water to cool the room. Now the problem. We have "hard water" that leaves limescale deposits on the blade surfaces of misted fans. The calcium makes the leaves look awful. I used this filter to solve this problem and it works great. There is no more limescale on the leaves. Oh I think you can use it to wash your car too. Haha
