Easy repair of my Price Pfister single lever mixer - now we have both cold and hot water!

Our shower faucet was only providing hot water and after 22 years of use the compensating valve got stuck in the cartridge. Very easy to fix. The water supply to the house had to be shut off and the control valve dismantled. The tools needed for mine were just a small flathead screwdriver and a #2 Phillips screwdriver. It took about 15 minutes total, including going down to the basement to turn the water on and off. Why pay a plumber for this?
