Just used a grater to sort through carrots, apples and raw potatoes. It worked great! It was quick and easy to use and easy to clean. This device is well designed and manufactured. I read all the reviews and realized that all the one and two star ratings are not true. The suction power was good (never moved) and the handle didn't break, even with carrots or raw potatoes, holy cow does that quickly. It's been about two months since I bought my rotary cheese grater and I thought it was important to let you know that it's still working great. For those of you who have had suction problems, please note that the underside of the suction cup and the countertop must be clean. Any dirt will affect the proper functioning of the suction cup. Second, it breaks with rough handling, as plastic usually does, so I hold onto it and twist the handle tight without straining. It disassembles and washes well with hot water.
