Works well. I would give 4.7 stars if that were possible. The screen is great. I get very few particles at the bottom of the beaker and I grind pretty well. The cutouts at the base are a great idea. My old Melita plastic skittles didn't have windows and many cups overflowed. This allows me to look into the cup so I know when to stop adding water. Clever. It would be nice if the base of the cone was below the outer ring of the base so the water would flow towards the center. The middle part is lower than the outer ring, so all the water goes into the bowl but some of it stays in the fountain around the windows. It's not that the water doesn't get into the cup; does everything; no mess. The water in the fountain prevents the machine from spinning to even out the grind. With water in the well I can't do it without the water overflowing. However, to be honest, this swirl isn't really necessary as I can add water little by little and add it at the edge of the grind to reduce it. For me it's a small thing. Even if the center were lowered, the device would not be stable on a flat, closed surface such as a tabletop without small feet. All in all it's better the way it is. One thing I don't like is spot welding. They're serviceable and none have failed, but the spot welds don't hold up to much abuse. I rinse with water after each use and gently shake off the water, keeping the rim of the cone close to the tip. If I held it by the base I think the welds would eventually break. So no rough treatment and hopefully hold out. So far, so good. Without the spot weld I would have given five stars without hesitation. But functionally everything is fine. I'll probably wash it in the dishwasher every now and then, but I'm just rinsing it for now. I see no reason why he couldn't go to the top shelf. Stainless steel seems to be the right grade as there is no rust stain on it. I always let it air dry after each use, but it appears to be made of high quality stainless steel. You know what, I changed my mind and gave it five stars. Consider my comments a reason to shorten it a bit, but I don't think my rating should be 4 stars.
