Review on Enhance Your Drive with the Custom Accessories 35600 Black Genuine Leather Steering Wheel Cover featuring Woodgrain Design by Joseph Scalea

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good looking but terrible smell

No one will mistake it for an expensive original, but it makes the wheel thicker and adds a fake style. Our Volvo came with a real wood steering wheel but not a wood one so I always wanted to add one but never did because of the cost of an OEM wheel and then the cost of replacing all the electrics at the dealership and such further. As others please note, the case smells on first receipt. Leave it in your garage or yard for a day or two to air out. And as others have noted, it's difficult to initially place the cover on the steering wheel. But there is a reason for this: it should nestle against the steering wheel as if it were original for the car. You have to be careful not to get frustrated and try to do something that stretches it or rips the seams. After my first attempt at pumping it up I stepped back and just put it in the dryer for 5 minutes on low speed so it naturally lost some of its stiffness. After that, the wheel cover was easier to attach from the top to the sides and then lower down to the bottom of the wheel. If you still can't mount it to your steering wheel, the only tool that I think makes it easier without damaging the fairing and steering wheel is a small 6" curved flat pry bar that painters use to pry windows . one of those cheap $2 tools I bought at a big hardware store, but they come in handy.) Considering it's January, I have no idea how the case will hold up in the scorching summer heat but will update my rating after May if everything changes for the worse.
