Compatible AKB75375604 How do I fix sticky buttons? - my review about it

Greetings to all readers of my review! This review is about the remote control (remote control) for the LG TV, as well as my experience in eliminating sticking (jamming) of the remote control buttons. My experience may also be useful to owners of remotes for other equipment who have encountered a similar problem. IN BRIEF ABOUT THE CONTROL PANEL At the beginning of the review, a little about the remote control itself. Externally, the remote looks like this The remote is comfortable and relatively light. Large buttons make it easy to use. The remote control has a length of 23.5 cm. On the one hand, this is a rather long length, there are consoles that are shorter; on the other hand, there is less chance of losing it. On the back wall of the remote control there is a compartment for AAA batteries, which are closed with a latch lid. However, like most of these remotes. This remote control comes with the LG LED TV, which you can read about here. The instruction manual for the TV contains a description of the purpose of the remote control buttons STICKING BUTTONS. SEARCH FOR A REASON. Approximately 2 years after the purchase of the TV, a problem arose in the sticking of the remote control buttons. For example, when adding volume, which continued to increase, although the corresponding button was no longer pressed. With the button for sequential switching of programs, the same story: the button was released, and the program switching continues. All this caused inconvenience. I was already going to look for a new remote, but first I decided to try to disassemble the remote and look for the reason for the "non-return" of the buttons. As a result, the problem was solved. After 1.5 - 2 years, the buttons stuck again, so a few days ago I re-fixed the problem and in this review I will tell you how I did it. If, after removing the batteries, you did not see the screws for connecting the halves of the body of your remote control, then the parts of the body are connected using latches. Carefully, using a construction knife with interchangeable blades, I separated the halves of the console around the entire perimeter. You have to be careful not to get hurt. As a result, the lower part is detached from the upper part. Removing the top panel Around the "OK" button there are "Navigation buttons up/down/left/right", which hold the rubberized button plate (keyboard) on the circuit board with latches Squeezing the upper and lower latches in pairs towards each other, I remove the Navigation buttons Now you can freely detach the rubberized (most likely silicone) keyboard from the circuit board. In fact, everything is quite simple. There is no need for soldering or replacement of parts. I describe this process in detail for those who are far from such things in everyday life, but would like to repair the remote control with sticky buttons with their own hands. So, on closer inspection of the silicone plate with the buttons and the circuit board, I saw a layer of grease on both of these parts. The board looks like it was smeared with sunflower or similar oil. STICKING BUTTONS. REMOVING THE CAUSE. To eliminate the greasy layer on the printed circuit board, I used boric alcohol, cotton wool or a cotton pad I washed the body of the remote control and the silicone keyboard under the tap with a sponge with laundry soap (for the first time) and dishwashing detergent (for the second time). Then I wiped all these parts dry. In principle, it is also possible to wipe these parts with an alcohol-containing liquid instead of rinsing with water. On the board, I wiped, of course, only the side that is in contact with the buttons. After wiping the board, the cotton pad turned yellow-gray from grease and dust. The reason for sticking became clear to me: due to the presence of grease and dust, silicone buttons stick to the contacts of the board and do not return when they are released. After wiping off grease, the board and keyboard no longer shine and look different We assemble the remote control in the reverse order: put the keyboard on the board, fix it with the "Navigation button" with four latches. Next, we insert the board with the keyboard into the body parts, which we connect to each other by latches. In places where there was a touch of the knife when opening the remote control case, roughness and irregularities formed. It is better to clean them with the same construction knife, needle file or fine sandpaper. I check the remote. No sticking, remote works like new. HOW FAT GET IN THE REMOTE? I am a meticulous person and naturally the question arose: how does fat get there? After the first opening of the console, there was an assumption that when mounting the keyboard on the board at the factory, they lubricate it with oil to fix it. But, when I cleaned and began to assemble the remote control, there was no need for such lubrication, everything fell into place anyway without any displacement. Another assumption was, in my opinion, from the realm of fantasy: fat comes from the hands of a person. But we always handle the equipment with care, so it will serve us for many years. We never take the remote control with greasy hands. The main part of the case is plastic and only the buttons are silicone. This was not the case with previous remotes, perhaps the material of the buttons was different. After the second recent repair of the console, the assumption associated with the manufacturer's factory was automatically dropped. So this is the work of human hands. I still find it hard to believe how the buttons pull the fat out of the fingers. The buttons on the remote control are always dry. But the fact remains. Let me summarize. Dust and grease from your hands enter the LG TV remote control during operation. As a result, the buttons on the remote control stick. This problem is not a breakdown and can be fixed on your own. To further prevent this process, I will put a polyethylene cover on the remote control. Thanks for reading this review. I hope it will help you solve a similar problem with the remote control on your own and prevent you from wasting money on buying a new remote control.
