The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because the product description doesn't make it clear that it's a SURFACE clamp. Basically it is a flat clamp +- 1/4 inch. ie, without an additional latch placed on the same surface as the workpiece, the workpiece can be up to 1/4 inch thick, or the pad can be adjusted to clamp 1/4 inch below the level of the platter. Yes you can clamp a 2" board but only if you mount it on a 2" block. Just like you can secure a 6 foot block if you mount it on top of a 6 foot block. for cutting large OSB boards. I figured I would need both clamps to hold the mount securely to the 8ft panels, but one will do as it has more holding capacity.
