This product works perfectly as advertised. I was looking for an inexpensive, high-quality FireWire cable to connect my Sony HDR-HC1 camcorder to my computer for HDV video transfer. I connected one end to the camera, the other end to my PC's FireWire port, launched the editing software, and began transferring the video. If you've never bought a FireWire cable, a word of caution: make sure your device accepts a 4-pin cable, not a 6-pin cable, which is wider and supposedly very similar to USB. Then make sure your computer also supports the 4-pin cable. Otherwise you should (obviously) buy another cable.
