I removed the center console from the van to make more room. I lost the DC connection. I went to Walmart and bought a $12 splitter and literally the moment I powered up my XM radio the splitter fell apart. I traded it in for another right away and kept it together until my wife met the next one and it fell apart too. I got my money back. I was skeptical when I saw this, but thought it was worth the risk. The first big plus is that it has a built-in fuse, so that my car vacuum cleaner no longer short-circuits the car fuse. Second, it has separate on/off switches for the DC (cigarette lighter) ports that light up when activated, so I don't leave a hot outlet open for anything, including my finger, to get into. Third, it has two 4.8 amp USB charging ports in between, finally giving me two 2.4 amp phone chargers. Fourth, it displays the output voltage so you'll know immediately if something goes wrong with the power supply.
