Directions was thin. It gave you a picture of the scanner and where to plug in the USB cable, where the camera was and gave you a website to download the software. There were no instructions to get the software working with the scanner. The scanner does not have a power plug. I was lucky and I had one laying around. Moving the camera higher blurred the script of the book. Fully depressing the extension did not allow scanning a full sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper.
