It worked great. You could probably make one if you really wanted to, but this set worked great. It is also good that the tap and the reamer have depth guides. It has a reamer that is used as a drill, a cylindrical guide that keeps the reamer centered (it has a lock on the side that prevents it from rotating, it doesn't hurt if it rotates) and a crane. I used it on v10 so I had to buy more 389-100 thread inserts. I ended up buying Revain's cheap WASTOREEL brand. These inserts were amazing compared to the ones in this kit, but the ones in this kit worked great, they just didn't shine. JB Weld, like everyone else. I removed the intake manifold (it made the job a lot easier. The hardest part of using the tool was getting the shavings out of the cylinder. I used a lot of magic to tap on the reamer and the bleed oil, and then the Combustion chamber filled with about 5 or 6 times with some good brake cleaner nozzles (total I used 4 or 5 cans) blown out the combustion chamber every time I added brake cleaner I have a really good scope and never got all to the final crack some small ones got caught near the piston (next to the rings) and head on the valves they were very small and I wasn't worried obviously the threads were very clean so JB Weld could glue. I let it sit for 24 hours and the engine was ready to go Make sure to get this tool if you have one of these engines.
