I have an all black German Shepherd, a German Shepherd mix and a black Jack Russell/Pug mix. I can't see two black dogs well at night, even with headlights turned on automatically by motion sensors. This used to be a problem until I bought three of these rechargeable collars. What a big difference! I can easily see dogs at night even through the many hedges surrounding my property. I used to buy battery types and they use a lot of batteries which are very expensive. So I decided to buy rechargeable collars and charge them for a few hours about every other day. Oh I can say I saved a lot of money by buying very small batteries. I don't use strobe lights or strobe lights because I feel it can produce bad reactions like epilepsy, but I have no idea if dogs can get epilepsy. Rather than risk it I just leave the lights on all the time so they don't blink and they work great and I highly recommend them. So the bottom line is if you have dark colored dogs these rechargeable light collars are worth the money and in my opinion they are not even expensive compared to your local pet store where non-rechargeable light rings are almost double the price. .
