POWERFUL! 62,000 rpm with the included medium brush is simply devastating! This REQUIRES the app

I was so excited to finally get this brush so I could see for myself why the Sonicare toothbrush is the best selling toothbrush. It only comes with 1 brush head so I don't like it based on my use with that 1 head. It's TOO powerful, wide, aggressive and hard. I love the soft bristles and my gums too. If you turn this on and just look at the vibration of the bristles, they have about 4mm of wobble, so don't get it up against your gums when brushing vertical surfaces of your teeth. This is normal for horizontal cuts. When I clench my teeth and try to brush my upper and lower teeth together, this brush head is still too wide and hurts my gums. As it turns out, I don't like it. I ordered fake nano brushes (10,000 extremely fine and soft bristles) that should fit all Sonicare snap brushes. But none of the replacement heads have RFID chips, so I'm not sure what those chips are for. I have been able to find replacement Sonicare brush heads to fit this brush and they are described as "sensitive" and I love this brush with these tips at any speed. This is item #B0086VIA0M in the search bar. I don't have sensitive teeth or gums but I just prefer soft ones and this tip works for me. In addition, the toothbrush is not too bulky and the hand does not vibrate. Without installing their app on your phone, you can turn the brush on and off, that's all. Without the app it just runs at high speed at 62K vpm. The app is buggy and keeps freezing. Through the app, it tells you where to brush your teeth. It doesn't really tell you where to brush your teeth. You can change this in the app so it offers what you want. A screen comes up in front of me telling me it's "calibrated". I can't see anything but this annoying screen and I can't make it go away. I could have brushed my teeth 15 minutes ago if I hadn't messed around with that damn app! I was finally able to set up my toothbrush and put it in a low-intensity, delicate mode. For me it's much better and not as aggressive/hard with the medium attachment at low speeds. After you change the settings in the application, the brush should stay in those settings the next time you turn it on, but it doesn't. You must always have your phone with you when brushing your teeth because it now starts at 62K. In the application, you must identify problem areas that you know exist. If your bottom teeth have or are prone to plaque, add this information. It tracks plaque, receding gums, tooth decay and bleeding. I don't know the VPM setting I chose for this, but it's definitely NOT 62,000 RPM. So my guess is that the speed setting I'll go with will be around 20-25,000 RPM. I can't think of a good reason why anyone would really need or even like 62,000 vpm. That's devastating with the included brush head. If you register the product during app setup, the warranty is extended by 3 full years. Luckily they don't use a loading glass on this model! This is a small flat stand but I was hoping that only the cable is needed for charging. My new brush heads are already in stock (Nano Sonicare Fakes) and I like them much better than the ones with the brush, but most would think it's too soft. I can even use it at high speed, 62K vpm without feeling too aggressive. Now it's more like polishing. I like my Oguard brush better which I can use right away, nothing extra complicated or dependent on anything and the heads aren't too hard and I DO NOT have to take my phone to the bathroom. Comparing the levels I have chosen for the Sonicare to work I have a feeling that this is my Oguard toothbrush. Colgate Hum offers an app to help you schedule your brushing, while Fairywill offers 62,000rpm. I suspect Sonicare was trying to get them all in 1 for THREE+ more than if I bought each of these toothbrushes individually. I can't say if it cleans my teeth better than any other brush I've ever owned or used as I have pretty good dental habits and floss daily. I just had my annual cleaning and when I come home afterwards I'm never as surprised as other people. To me, my teeth seem to be the same, so I'm guessing they go in pretty well and come out a little better, but not enough to make a difference. I'll have to wait and see if my dentist notices anything else. I see this can be useful for young people who may not know how to brush their teeth well AND who live with their phones 24/7. I really wish there were options to change settings on the grip, but they removed that and made it app dependent instead. So I use it at 62K or not at all. With the right speed and attachment, this Sonicare can help maintain oral health or correct or prevent dental problems. You MUST also floss whichever toothbrush you choose! I liked the sensitive tip of the Sonicare as I prefer the soft one. My little son also likes this brush head. For us, even at 62K, that's a great combination.

Pros
  • Removes 20x more plaque than a regular toothbrush
Cons
  • Great price
