It works fine. The plastic comes out when you hold down the feed button and cuts off when you let go. The speed is adjusted with a slider on the side. You can set the temperature within a wide range. It displays both the target temperature and the current temperature. I can do something with it, but of course it takes a lot more practice to make something look good. I got it mainly for repairs and for that it seems pretty good. Cons: The cord is a bit short. Things that weren't obvious at first: Once turned on, the heater stays off until you press the feed button to wake it up. At this point the heater will turn on and the temperature will begin to rise to the set temperature. I waited a few minutes for it to heat up and wondered what was going on before I hit the feed button and it started heating up. Another reviewer said it didn't have a hole in the nozzle. Mine came with a white thread in the nozzle, possibly from testing. It was almost the same color as the ceramic nozzle and pretended not to have a hole. However, I could see the difference with a 30x loupe. As it warmed, the new thread pushed out the white matter. I needed high heat so I'm guessing the white plastic was ABS. I suggest MYNT3D use colored threads for testing to avoid confusion.
