I spray eau de cologne in the humidifier and after 15-20 minutes my room smells like a Paco Rabanne factory it's amazing. The water runs out fairly quickly though, I don't think the cycle is actually 4 hours long as written, maybe 1 1/2 - 2 hours max. Literally after every use I have to rinse the entire humidifier out at this point. If I have water left over from my last use (which was usually a little earlier, in the afternoon or the night before) I can't continue to use it because of the foul odor that spreads down the middle. Smells like a very sweaty person who hasn't showered in days. So if you don't run it until the water runs out, you'll have to flush the entire humidifier again every time and refill it with water (even if you run it empty, you'll have to clean it completely because the smell will still be there). ) . FYI I bought replacement swabs and replaced the first one that was in the box after about 2 weeks.
