Not sure if they're very useful

I bought these because my husband hates kitchen sponges (odors and bacteria) and I've read they solve these problems. I couldn't imagine what they would look like or how useful they would be, but I decided to give it a try (although they are relatively expensive compared to regular sponges). They're not very useful for cleaning anything that requires even a light scrubbing, but they're good for wiping down surfaces. Are they more hygienic? I'm not sure but I will say they don't hold odors like ordinary sponges.
