12/2016 Original review: We can finally get to the ceiling fans without any effort! We have 10 foot ceilings and now we can get into the corners to brush away the cobwebs too. It appears to be a quality product and has been working great so far. UPDATED 12/2021: After five years of light home use, the duster finally broke due to an internal malfunction. I reckon five years is a long lifespan for an inexpensive product like this, but I've changed my rating from 5 stars to 4 out of bad luck. The knuckle, which allows you to adjust the position of the head, has a ratchet lock to lock the position. Inside is a spring. So when you press the button, you can change the angle of your head and then release the button to keep it pressed. The spring exerts a force on the plastic locking pin inside, preventing the spring from deflating the button when released. This pin is a fairly weak plastic and the constant force being applied to it eventually stretched it to the limit and the "hooks" on the pin broke. The spring ripped off the button and now there's no way to hold the rag head in place so it's garbage now because the flimsy plastic locking pin failed. If a stronger locking pin had been used, say metal, it wouldn't have failed. Due to the lack of a stronger pin, everything is now thrown into the landfill. Overall, this is a good design, with the exception of one flaw that needs some strengthening. I don't see a good way to fix the broken one but I bought a new one to replace the original as overall the product is good but it would be nice if it lasted longer.
