I end up at 12 to 14 ounces. a cup of coffee in about 20-30 minutes. I no longer have to refill my coffee halfway to reheat it. I still use a ceramic mug to heat milk/coffee in the micro. Then pour it into an insulated mug. I wash/use an old ceramic mug for a few days before putting it in the dishwasher. Some reviewers are looking for a mug to keep their coffee hot for 3 hours. Good luck with it. You are better off using a large volume Thermos thermos when heat resistance is a priority. In my case, I just want a cup to stay hot/warm for no more than 30 minutes. Dishwasher Warning: The manufacturer recommends hand washing the mugs if you purchase the tinted version. The raw stainless steel version is dishwasher safe. In my case, I bought the black lacquered version and put it in the dishwasher. Just use the top shelf and don't use 30x extra strong dishwashing liquid and it may take a while for the paint to come off. In the worst case, the paint will peel off and add "character" to your mug. You can still drink from it without hesitation.
