To be honest I don't know if these coffee filters will affect my Capresso coffee maker. The tap water in my house is pretty hard so I filter my drinking water anyway and then use that filtered water in my Capresso coffee maker that uses that filter. But I get a lot of compliments from guests that our coffee is consistently delicious. I've served guests coffee with a wide variety of whole beans from the supermarket and trendy local roasters, and we still get compliments, so I know it's not the beans. Coffee grinder + coffee maker, so I always use freshly ground beans. Maybe these filters really improve the quality of my once filtered tap water.
