Review on 🔧 Efficiently Sand Drywalls with the WEN 6369 Variable Drywall Sander by Ian Bates

01/21/18. The first block received. I have never had a Wen product, it was cheap and as they say. First impressions are ergonomically ok, less rubber could be used to make the grip lighter, the dust hose feels solid if a little heavy, the motor mount mechanics seem ok. The plastic is not very suitable for fixing the sanding pad, it is very thin and the ABS plastic is not reinforced with fibers. The dust cover is very poorly designed for the movement and in my case it won't be recessed enough to get the brushes in the way at the edges, allowing the grinding wheel to have even contact with the surface causing hard impacts. I removed the dust cover and the balance between the motor and the grinding wheel is very bad, the machine does not run smoothly, jumps and shakes without a cover. It looks like they spent more on the grip design and tubing material than the really important part, the weak point is the motor mounting and disc balancing. I'm the kind of person who would buy a tool and make it by hand instead of paying someone else to do the work. I just had to rent a Pro Porter Cable Rig for $40 a day. But I figured it would be handy and save a few bucks. Will be updated after replacement. 1/25/18 I received a second unit, I really can't understand how this product has so many high reviews. It seems quite odd, having received two brand new units and having the same quality issues, either these people have never used a grinder like this one before this one and I think that's how they work, or they are in cahoots about the reviews to polish for this product. Type of abrasive pad, comes into contact with the pad and melts on impact, making it hard, crusting and scratching, and removing releases more dust. After sending a few emails, he didn't reply. I ended up ordering a Festool 201895 St-Stf-D215/8-LHS-E sanding pad on ebay and was able to install it at WEN on eba y. It works much better now, I only had to spend as much on a Festool sander as I would on a WEN sander but you get what you pay for so this is a working drywall sander. With the built-in Festool base, it works perfectly, as it should from the start! THE PAD COMING WITH THE GRINDER IS A FULL CRUCK AND THE COMPANY SHOULD SERIOUSLY WORK ON IMPROVING THIS PART, THIS IS A WEAK DRAWING WITH OTHER DEVICES. A GOOD PRODUCT.
