Great tool. Saves a lot of time! Tips and Tricks

Hired an expensive Porter cord grinder for pre repair, this Wen does the same. Achieving a clean finish is mostly down to technique. Sure, it wobbles a bit when you dangle it, but it's easy to adjust the pressure, travel direction, tool orientation, arm movement, or RPM to stop it, and the same goes for the carrier's cable. Take all that with a pinch of salt, I just sanded <2000 sqft. Feet combined with any brand. My mistake with renting is that I sanded too much. Almost dust-free if you…

Compared to a more expensive machine

In a past life I was a professional drywall contractor. I had access to quality tools. The grinder we used was a 9" Porter Cable All-in-One vacuum grinder. Since I no longer have that job, I no longer have access to the tools either. That's why I ordered the WEN unit. What caught my eye is that WEN has a lighter construction. This has its pros and cons. It's obviously easier to handle (although ceiling sanding is never easy), but the longevity of the tool had to be sacrificed. The rod (handle)…

Pros
  • Velcro makes changing sandpaper easier than ever
Cons
  • Very expensive

01/21/18. The first block received. I have never had a Wen product, it was cheap and as they say. First impressions are ergonomically ok, less rubber could be used to make the grip lighter, the dust hose feels solid if a little heavy, the motor mount mechanics seem ok. The plastic is not very suitable for fixing the sanding pad, it is very thin and the ABS plastic is not reinforced with fibers. The dust cover is very poorly designed for the movement and in my case it won't be recessed enough to

Pros
  • Automatic dust removal system combined with a 15ft dust bin minimizes cleaning effort.
Cons
  • cord shorter than other washers.
