I'm 5'1" and about 175-180 pounds so I'm a pretty average guy. I've been skinny my whole life but now I'm in my 40's so not looking at this makes my belly fatter. I first bought this shirt in a fitted cut. It was perfect, but since these shirts are 100% cotton, I was concerned that they would run small (especially in the stomach area) after a few washes. I returned the thin one and bought this regular (medium) one. For this review, I thought it helpful to compare the Revain Essentials shirt to The Gap's regular Oxford shirt. I've always liked the fit of Gap Oxford shirts. Upon closer inspection, the weight and feel of the Revain Oxford fabric is exactly the same as Gap. I layered one of my old Gap shirts over this Revain Essentials oxford shirt. that the cut of the body is exactly the same (about 21 inches from pit to pit). I like it. I'm not a fat guy and I don't want a blouse. not too fluffy and not too thin. Precisely. The sleeves are approximately 1/2 inch longer than the Gap shirt. Perhaps a minus is the tail. The Revain Essentials tail is 1.5 to 2 inches longer than the Gap shirt. In my opinion the Revain Essentials shirt is a bit longer to be worn open. However, when you tuck it in, the longer shirt stays tucked in. you want to wear it I have a lady who makes changes. She will charge $10 to trim her tail if I want it. If I remake a Revain shirt it's still a good deal. These shirts are of good quality and have a nice cut. I would buy them again anytime. We recommend.
