Review on Bosch 17B Wiper Blade Longer by Andy Metzger

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Much better and more reliable than Rain-X

They have been on my car for a little over a year and a half. (I know because Revain just reminded me of my previous order when I checked the product page to order another set.) They're only now showing signs of aging. I've had Rain-X wipers before (two different types) and although they cost about 75% more, they lasted 30% of the time. you do the math If you are unfamiliar with them, Bosch is the company that actually makes OEM wiper blades for many high-end vehicles (e.g. BMW). In fact, you'll probably be surprised at how much Bosch has done in your car. So you're not buying from a company that only sells cheap parts made in China and sells them with a lot of marketing. With them you get OEM quality, if not better. So if you look at these blades from that point of view, these blades are actually not that expensive. They don't streak or dangle, and even after sitting in my car for over a year, they only leave small streaks. That's saying something, because they've already survived two Boston winters. So the blades last a long time, but will you be happy with them as long as they last? I think so. They hold the windshield shape well and never flap or vibrate no matter how fast you drive. The mount is solid and worked well on the J hook in my car. Many other "universal" mounts didn't work as well, particularly the mounts for the aforementioned Rain-X wipers. The one-piece construction is also great for those living in colder climates as it is less prone to ice and snow accumulation. Since your eyes are the most important safety element in your car, you owe it to yourself not to skimp on them. wiper blades. But I am happy to report that despite the initial cost, they are actually more economical than many other premium wiper blades as these are the only expensive blades I have ever used that have actually lasted longer than cheap ones. : The letter A or B after the model number (e.g. 22A) refers to the spring force of the blade (i.e. how hard it is to pull it straight out). B exerts more force and is useful if you have a severely curved windshield. The fact that Bosch not only offers different lengths per inch, but also two different spring strengths is another indication that these are not ordinary wiper blades. I found that A on the driver's side and B on the passenger's side worked best for my car. When in doubt, just try A from all angles, and when you find that there are no dots on the ends of the blade, return A and get B. One final tip: Revain's database is useful, but by no means complete. If you think this will work for your car but Revain says it won't, ignore Revain. They say none of the blades I have on my machine will fit and yet as you can imagine I'm very happy with it.
