The pod works well. It takes me 1 minute to load and pack the coffee. I do it over an Illy coffee can top to keep the espresso coffee grinds from making a mess over the counter. The foam is just as good as the pods when you use finely ground espresso, and you'd think you were having one of the pod generated coffees. However, the taste is a bit flat. I've tried Illy and Lavazza espresso (the Illy was pre ground, and the Lavazza I ground from the beans). Neither of them is generating the depth of flavor. I have also tinkered with the water amount (reduced vs. the 8 oz bar code setting - see your machine instructions for how). Clean up is a bit messy, but I've figure out that putting it in a bowl and soaking it for a minute speeds it up. Yes, you probably save 1/2 on the cost of coffer for a bit of work - and I'm fine for the little bit of work - but I'm still searching for flavor.
