Good lighter for lighters and matches

I bought this as a gift for a girl I was dating at the time. Having had zippos before, I find the low visibility quite funny that it didn't hold lighter fluid. They would have to fill them up before sending them to you because you don't want to keep them brand new full of lighter fluid or they might stain or damage the packaging or something else nasty I'm sure. Even if you didn't have a Zippo before, you'll need to replace a few flints, and cheap flints will need to be changed more often. You'll know when it's time to replace the flint, as the firing pin often gets stuck, usually requiring you to change the direction of the blow to loosen it and fire it a few more times. After a while it just stops sparkling and you just unscrew the little screw on top of the cotton wool where you stuff it. There's no harm in ordering new replacement wicks either, but that can be a wait as they take a long time to wear out (I replaced one after bringing an old Zippo that I found on the windowsill of the old house I lived in try to fix it. I don't know how to replace it anymore). Either way, with regular maintenance, these things will last a lifetime. like an old timer blade.

Pros
  • All-metal construction; windproof design works almost anywhere
Cons
  • A few little things
