Review on Flowmaster 52573 2.5 Inch Inlet/Outlet 70 Series Muffler BBII by Matt Simpson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Should have done it from the start

This is my third exhaust on my truck. Truck 05 F150. It originally had a 3" dual 2.5" Magnaflow outlet that changed to a 24" Borla Pro XS body with a 3" dual 2.5" outlet became. Both were pretty loud cruising silences in WOT. I've been towing a lot more and driving trucks lately and I'm sick of the loud noise. Choose something quiet but with some noise. Pick these Flowmasters from the 70's after watching tons of YouTube videos for comparison. Pipe size has been reduced to 2.5" One Inlet and one 2.5" Outlet. 1st run I smiled after loading. It's MUCH quieter and under acceleration you can hear you have an exhaust but not as uncomfortably loud as my 3" Autobahn cruiser etc so you can easily talk to passengers and listen to the radio without it exploding. Now the towing sounds a lot smoother. I got back my bottom torque I wanted as I tow more. Gasoline per gallon up slightly (0.5-0.75mpg), will control more over time IMO, that's how all "sports" model cars should sound from the factory. A little rumble but nothing crazy, just nice and soft. The bottom line is that the exhaust is made without being LOUD, got it. If you want volume, get Magnaflow Borla or Flowmaster 40 or 10.
