Pay special attention to what is not included in the instructions

I just got this today and haven't installed it yet, but will do so in the next few days. Therefore, part of my review is based on a very close examination of a product that impresses with its material, construction and finish. First, it's a gorgeous Ford blue, but that doesn't detract from anything other than visual appeal. The first look and feel in the hands is impressive. Everything fits very snugly and it's a good idea to put some oil on the rubber pads to keep them from sticking during use. Non-slip surfaces should make handling easier, even with dirty, oily hands. One piece of information not mentioned in the instructions is that there is a round metal spacer in the box that looks bent as hell. It needs to be installed and inserted into a small recessed pocket of the part that inserts into the oil pan drain hole. My guess is that the warped looking piece of metal gasket is actually meant to create spring loaded pressure between the oil pan and the new drain plug, holding it tight and tight to hold it in place. The weekend is upon us and I'm looking forward to the last time I have to hold that damn yellow drain plug in place to adjust the flow of the drained oil so it doesn't splatter all over the bottom of my truck and make me aggravated in the process an oil bath. My truck is an FX4 with a metal cover under the oil drain pan. I'll be leaving the skid plate off for a while so I can keep an eye on oil leaks around this new dump valve. You can be sure that I will come back to update this review!
