Review on Beading Router with Rounded Bit by David Banks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great pieces - check them out. Evaluate them objectively, comparisons to Freud, Whiteside, etc. misplaced.

The bits come in a nice sturdy wooden box. The carbide is very high quality and the soldering is very clean on every part of my kit. The yellow non-stick coating applies cleanly and evenly. High quality bearings, well screwed and attached to the bit shaft. The name on the shaft is neatly placed on each bit in the set. The package also included a surprise coupon for future purchases! The bits work very well on the router and work very well in the hands or on the table. I milled many yards of MDF, plywood, and soft woods like pine. The bits come through clean and the router is not burdened. I feel like I was able to channel my stock much quicker than with my lonely old round bit replaced with this set. I just had a piece of poplar to try with hardwood and it worked great. Tips: 1) Once you get the bits, check them. 2) Be very careful when taking them out of the box as the carbide will cut your fingers and you will see it before you feel it. 3) Inspect and clean the bits to remove any sticky material. 4) The carbide edges of the three smallest bits can touch their widest point when inserted into the box. Try to stagger the edges so they don't touch. Update: I had an issue with a bearing and emailed support. I got an answer after a few hours, they just asked for a photo of the failed bearing and sent a new one the same day. That's good customer service. The beauty of this is that Jonathan CSR said in the original answer that all the bits in the set are the same stock size and I can swap them out to finish my project on time. Saved my weekend. That's thoughtful customer service. To see the brand's Beats in action, check out WoodWorkWeb's YouTube review.
