Review on Sunsong 3401201 Steering Pressure Assembly by Andy Hearshman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This is an intricate DIY repair

As original but the steel pipe is "painted black" but that is not so important. Removal of the air chamber and hose (when approaching from top to bottom)! I needed an "extra pair of hands" so my wife had to crawl under our van and push the line in and up and I had to lie on top of the engine (make sure it's cool first) to install the fitting . lined up with the steering box to screw it in (it only took me about 50 times trying to start the install!). It's not the seller's fault. Be careful when tightening any of these fittings as you may twist, pull or otherwise break the line! After completion and inspection, the new line has a slow leak/drip somewhere (?). Possibly where the gear unit mounts or where it goes into the power steering unit itself, so I'll check those areas and see if I can "tighten" them. The seller was "totally defensive" because I asked a pre-purchase question regarding someone's request to leak their line after installation.?!? Therefore they deprive the stars ⭐️ for the "argumentative answer". The steering is fine now and I've actually flushed/repeated this a couple of times and topped up the Honda type PS fluid.

Pros

Cons
  • Requires bushing
