does the job. No more blown trunk fuses.

TLDR: Paint chipped in several places, not 100% sure it's really new. But this part works perfectly. Full Story: The trunk release button stopped working in my Chevy Malibu Gen 8. At first the new fuse seemed to fix the opening problem, but it soon fails again, going so far as to blow the fuse every time I open the trunk. I did some research and found that when this happens, usually the drive (that part) fails and draws too much power. So be aware that if you replace this actuator and the trunk still does not open, make sure you replace the fuse as well. The part fits perfectly to the original, just without the GM logo. There was some paint chipping on one spot on the metal case, which made me suspect it might be a return or other "careful use". However, this may be due to poor storage/handling. The functional/mechanical part looked new and unused so when in doubt I decided and moved on. I installed the part, put another fuse in and that was a few days ago now. I have opened the trunk many times now and the trunk fuses have not blown again. You need to slam the trunk a little harder than before. Maybe the new bolt hasn't been cracked yet. If it stays that way I can oil it to prevent premature wear. Note: When you remove the cloth tonneau cover, you will most likely destroy one or more of the plastic clips (called trim clips) that hold it in place. Universal attachment item no. 963-058D fit perfectly.
