After reading mixed reviews on here I decided to buy this drill and try it myself. I live in south Texas where the soil tends to be clay so digging can be difficult due to the drought. made from recycled wood. Keep in mind I did this a few days after a week of heavy rain so it made things a lot easier. After a brief try (after encountering a few rocks) I realized that this tool scrapes the dirt up, so it must be used to drill a bit and then pull out loose soil before proceeding and digs deeper. I put the extra bed on a very dry surface and had no problems with it. Keep your hand steady when using the drill as it can flip you over when it starts lifting the ground; If you are not careful you can injure your wrist. I really liked the ease of use of this product - dare I say it's perfect for installing fence posts as the hole it makes is clean and deep enough to cover at least 10 inches deep. You can increase the width with a post hole excavator. If you are installing 4x4 posts (like I did) you may need to adjust the holes for the 4x4 corners. I used a sledge to insert the crate supports into the holes and it worked really well. I also used them to dig holes in the ground for planting. This tool does an excellent job of loosening the soil. Cleaning is no joke either. I can highly recommend this remedy.
