I bought this to replace the fan slider that comes with the Monoprice UItimate. I had to do some soldering, nothing complicated which consisted of soldering the wires to the serial connector wires. Once plugged in, I turned on the 3D printer and felt a flow of air from the bottom of the case. I know there have been complaints about the fan noise. I work with servers and high-performance computers that are about 20 times worse. This thing can be a little noisy, and if that's a problem, buy a water cooler and fiddle around to try and get it working. But I'm really considering using this fan to replace hot/cold end fans because it's that good.
