Review on Marumi DHG 72Mm Achromat Lens by David Bartan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Closer, closer, closer.

Scrolled it on a Fuji GF 120mm F4 macro lens to get more macro zoom. A most honest depiction of the budding of a weed. I collect +3+5 loupes with 52, 62, 72 and 77mm thread for a complete set. If you choose an auxiliary lens, you'll benefit from +3 and +5 as they have better foreground and background control for subject perspective and framing. When focusing very close, it's difficult to capture subjects close to detail, as tiny camera movements result in large effects on the plane of the sensor and film. Marumi's achromatic lens doesn't affect the resolution or contrast of the main lens, so you can just get much closer focus with what you put on it. A cheap trick with a big impact.
