Moen cartridges have lasted for years with o-rings cleaned and replaced. They changed manufacturers a few years ago and since then the cartridges have been running out after some time. I couldn't find any suitable o-rings to make them last. This cartridge is a beauty. If you need help with the installation, go to Youtube. My suggestions: turn off the water, have a puller handy, maybe the cartridge is really stuck. Take out the cartridge and note how it was installed. Clean the hole with steel wool if lime has hardened in it. Put in a new cartridge, add some lube or silicone. to be able to pull it out more easily next time. Make sure the notch of the line on the shaft is facing up (hot and cold are correct). Good advice. Make sure the ears are up from the 12th to the 6th position. If they are in positions 9 and 3, you cannot insert the locking ring.
