I have used these cartridges several times and am very happy with them. The images sometimes look a bit washed out, but they are still quite good, especially for work purposes. I don't use this printer for personal photos etc so don't worry. Considering the branded set costs around $400 for a 4-piece set, the slight color difference is perfectly acceptable. The printer doesn't detect the toner level on these cartridges, but it's pretty obvious when they still need to be replaced. I replace them 2-3 times a year and get about the same page count as with Cannon. To be honest, if Cannon dropped the price by 50% or more, I'd probably just pay the difference and buy Cannon. But it's not really going to happen, so $165/year vs. $1200/year. do math! :-)
