We bought this for my child's mid-morning meal after they kept complaining about the glass closures we supplied. They're great, a good guide to portion sizes (main course, veg, treat) and a 4 year old can open them without help. The side of the sandwich is just right for a light sandwich on sliced bread from the store. I've tried taking them to work myself and found that on a large sandwich with lots of toppings the lid won't fit, but with a child that's no problem. We put them in the dishwasher for a couple of years without damage - I try to put them on the top shelf, but the woman is indifferent and neither of them got hurt. We DO NOT put them in the microwave - I would expect them to discolor and warp, not to mention health issues. They are NOT impermeable to liquids - they can hold very thick gravy, but you can't even trust liquid gravy to not seep from hole to hole. Forget soups and real liquids. If you have crackers in one hole and something wet in the other, your crackers will be damp/soft by the time you reach them unless lunch is early. All of this suggests that we like them so much that we've bought more.
