Review on SanDisk Cruzer 128GB Flash SDCZ36 128G B35 by Paul Bijeaux

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Big enough for an archive, small enough for a drawer.

I bought two 256GB hard drives to archive photos and videos. Flash drives are ideal for this purpose as they are small, portable, inexpensive, reliable and offer plenty of storage space for thousands of photos etc. I bought USB 2.0 drives instead of USB 3.0 because my computer only outputs 2.0. You can check what you have on your MAC: Apple/About This Mac/System Report/USB. Two things to note: 1) While the read speed is decent, the write speed is VERY slow. If you write files to hard drive frequently, you'd better get a separate external hard drive. The write speed should not be a problem for use in the archive. 2) If you want to upload individual files larger than 4GB, you need to reformat the drive first. Formatting is a fairly simple process, I found the instructions on how to do this via Google. After formatting, large files are loaded without problems. NOTE: Format BEFORE you start uploading files as this will erase all data.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • There's nothing here
