Review on πŸ”‘ GM Genuine Parts 19299230 4 Button Keyless Entry Remote Key Fob - Reliable Remote Control for Enhanced Security and Convenience by Larry Simpson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Needs regular reprogramming

Easy to program and fit to the car, just follow the instructions in the manual which you can find online if you don't have a printed copy. After receiving one and seeing that it worked well, I ordered a second one. If you have already associated one with a car and a second, the car will take it into account first, as you will see on the display. It will say the first match is FOB when in fact it is the second. So if you have two, you have to program them at the same time. In my case, I programmed the first one a few weeks before receiving the second one. When I matched that, the first one didn't work until I did both at the same time. I've programmed the first one twice since November and now it's needed again. Today I was in the store, everything was locked and opened normally. When I left the store and tried to use it to open the tailgate it didn't work and as I expected it didn't work again at that moment. As long as they match I don't care, it only takes five minutes to find them. If they stop working at all, I give up and use the key. The key fob is handy, it doesn't do anything that power door locks don't. I'm not paying another $90 for convenience. You can set the factory alarm with electric door locks and the key will open the door. And of course there's a button on the dashboard to open the tailgate. I will keep using them as long as they fit in the car. When they stop working, I'll take the key. I had several cars older than Ferntechnik and the key was always enough.

Pros
  • New OE replacement; GM recommended replacing your original keyless remote
Cons
  • Slightly dented
