Review on Kichler Lighting 330001MWH Geno-54 Ceiling Fan - Matte White Finish, 54-inch Blade with Light Kit by Amy Kearse

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Beautifully styled fan. Heavy, with unique mounting features

This is a well designed fan but heavy for its size. The first fan I saw has an extra cord that needs to be attached to the fall arrest beam. The instructions are generally well written and the assembly is fairly typical for a ceiling fan. A unique selling point is the assembly of the fan blades. Unlike most other fans it has a hub (just above the light) and all five blades are attached to that hub and then this assembly is attached to the motor. Due to the size of this assembly, attaching it to the engine is a difficult task. LED light consists of several elements and provides good illumination. The fan appears balanced at low and medium speeds, but wobbles at high speeds. The included remote works well, but I noticed a constant low-frequency hum when the fan was running. It currently uses a standard wall switch and I've found that turning the wall switch off and then back on (even for a long time) returns the fan/light to its last state before it was turned off. Good deal at current price ($200) but not sure if it's worth the list price of $299.99.

Pros
  • An optional wall transmitter (370039MULTR) is available for wall control.
Cons
  • Low repairability
