Review on πŸ”‹ Survive Any Emergency with the Eton American Red Cross FRX3+ Weather Radio by Jon Thompson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

If I were alone in the mall at night surrounded by zombies outside in the dark

Some first impressions: The radio reception seems to be quite sufficient; i live in the desert WB channel 7 suits me. It has an average weight for a device of this size and feels sturdy. Right now I have about 3.6 stars; if it bothers you, you can give it 4.9 stars. Design flaws immediately noticeable: 1) There is no safe color bulb at the tip of the antenna. This is even required by the military. Stuck my eye at night (no backlight, remember?) 2) solar battery in the way of the carrying handle; I'd rather not leave my handprints on the charger from sunlight. 3) Single Cell Non-Redundant Battery: This device must have two batteries connected in parallel, not one. Redundancy is the key to electronics reliability. 4) No storage compartment for USB charger/power cord: The device is supposed to be self-contained. and impossible after the zombie apocalypse. 6) No power adapter. I miss that (although it can be bypassed). "Get ready: Donald Trump is all you need."

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • I don't remember
