I ordered the blue LED version. Everyone else seems to complain that blue LED clocks are brighter than their bedside lamps and say their room is lit up with a brilliant blue hue, although I'm not sure I can help get a newer clock model (hey, something like that is always possible) or always has been, this watch isn't that flashy by my standards. It has 3 brightness levels plus a "Display Off" level. When I sleep I use a medium brightness setting, which is about the same as the green LED clock I replaced. The brightest level can be helpful for daytime clarity when your room is brightly lit, or when you tend to get a lot of natural sunlight into your room during the day, making it bright. (This is coming from a person sleeping in a dark, if not entirely black, room with nothing to see; I turn off all the lights when I sleep.) For those complaining that the watch doesn't runs. Installing itself requires you to select a time zone when plugging in, which may confuse some naysayers. When you connect this watch for the first time, only "2" flashes, which is one of the selected time zones (2 is EST, but you can select any number in their list to choose your time zone depending on the situation). When you confirm your time zone, the watch sets itself - time, date and year - greatly reducing setup time. You can set this thing for 12 or 24 hours, it has 2 alarms, snooze and sleep functions. , can be set to radio or buzzer, and there is a USB port on the back for connecting a phone. It comes with both a quick start guide and a real user manual. Although it works a little differently than a traditional alarm clock, it comes with enough instructions for you to figure out how to use it. My watch arrived well packaged and in great condition. So far I can't find any obvious flaws on this watch.
