Easy installation for the avid DIY enthusiast!

My house had an indoor relative humidity of 18% the other day and I was fed up with the static, dry skin, loose floorboards and bloody noses I thought it was Time for a humidifier at home. I did some research and settled on the Aprilaire 700. Installation took about 4 hours including a trip to the hardware store. I'm an experienced DIYer and lifelong mechanic so it may take more or less time to complete the levels. I installed it in the back of my heater due to size restrictions on the supply side, but the relative humidity has been rising steadily for the past two days with no problems. I was expecting something to be missing or damaged, but was pleasantly surprised to only be missing the butterflies that hold the sides of the frame to the air duct (not a big deal as the frame is still attached to the air duct with screws (which aren't included) Items I need to complete the installation: 18/5 and 18/2 thermostat wiring Sharkbite valve for 1/4" copper tubing 1/4" copper tubing Zip-in screws Internal fan: Cord only about 5 feet and my outlet was about 6 feet high so I had to move the outlet closer which added extra time I have a honeywell smart thermostat that doesn't have a humidifier control (as far as I know) so I have those in the Installation sheet used wiring described The instructions indicated that there was already a 24 volt transformer on the side of my heater so I just used that to power the solenoid instead of the one that came with it to supply power to the device. I set the dial to 7 and release it. 48 hours almost non-stop to get my house to 31% RH and grow. My guess is that once the house absorbs moisture it will stabilize and only function when needed. My animals aren't static, my skin is soft, my nose isn't dry, and I've been able to lower the heater temperature from 73 to 70 and still feel comfortable! I highly recommend this device.
