Great toy, spinner works well

The GeoSmart Solar Spinner Set consists of 23 magnetic geometric shapes. The 23 piece set is a bit small and definitely works better in tandem with another set. There's enough detail to build a few basic figures and nothing more. The parts themselves are very solid and the magnets are well attached. They have survived repeated falls to the ground with no visible damage. I've always been wary of magnetic toys because of the risk of children accidentally swallowing them. One of the reasons the GeoSmart version of the magnet toys stands out is how they secure the magnets in two layers of protection. I find this added protection encouraging. Another thing I like about the GeoSmart products is that they find the best balance with the power of the magnets. My children have played with Magformers products in the past. I think Magformers magnets are too strong for small children and difficult to disassemble. The GeoSmart has a weaker magnetic force, making it easier to manipulate, but still powerful enough to build large structures. The big advantage of the Solar Spinner Set is the rotating part. Fortunately, this worked better than expected. Build quality is top notch and spins freely. Once loaded, it doesn't turn as easily, but the mechanical movement remains smooth. There is little to fault with the GeoSmart product. They are a great stepping stone from Lego to teach geometry and spatial awareness. The price is a bit high but justified as it is difficult to fault the quality of the toy.
