These grinders have a very small capacity, which means you'll have to turn them 10 or more times just to get the amount of pepper that's the size of your fingernail. Also, one of the two windmills in this set was not working. do not produce coarse pepper at all (for steaks and other seasonings for meat); Even on the lowest setting (which should produce coarse pepper) the output was more like pepper "dust". While these pepper mills look nice, they are not suitable for the kitchen other than the occasional dusting and are therefore going back.
