I'll tell you a secret. My house has cornices made of varnished electrical wires varnished to look like wood. And you know what? You really can't say. They walk along the high ceiling for a long time so that no one can see them. But buying actual curtain accessories, especially big enough/long enough for the space would be more expensive than my cheap ones I'm willing to shell out and buying the cheapest curtain rods would mean they sag and look awful. They came out great as I found out that the spray paint would melt them into a puddle of toxic slime and the acrylic paint applied with a brush would keep them smooth.
